On Monday, November 1 we welcomed approximately 30 people to our facility for a new twist on programming. The group gathered for a screening of the film FRESH by Ana Sofia Joanes. The film takes a critical look at the industrial, monoculture dominated Food System and in a documentary style introduces the audience to some alternative approaches by highlighting some of the people behind the local, small scale sustainable agriculture movement. Our goal for Moive Night at the ARC is to introduce people to some of the main topics in the general category of sustainability and we anticipate that this will be the first of a number of similar programs. The Film was followed by a discussion period and an opportunity for networking and identifying local solutions and opportunities to work together to build a healthier, more localized economy. The next Movie Night will take place on Monday, December 7 at 7 p.m. and the film will be announced in the next few days!
